Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala

Prof. Muffazal Lakdawala is a distinguished Bariatric and General surgeon with a wealth of experience and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. He is also a prolific researcher, having published papers in numerous high impact factor journals, he remains committed to advancing surgical knowledge and patient care. He has been conferred with Honorary memberships of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Societies of Japan, Saudi Arabia, Phillippines, South Korea and China. He has won the ‘Best Surgeon in the World Award’ by American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Las Vegas 2019, ‘Master Educator of the World Award’ by International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) World Congress Barcelona 2019 and IFSO Chapters Championship Trophy in Miami 2022. In his current role as Director of Surgery at Sir H.N Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai, he leads the Department of General Surgery and Minimal Access Surgical Sciences, with a focus on Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. He is not only a leader in his field but also a compassionate philanthropist, dedicated to serving underserved communities.
